Since Aya and I started living together, we have been listening to audio books together. Audio books are new to me, but Aya has been listening to them for a while. On any given day, we will both be working on different projects just a few feet from each other, with a story being spoken in the background.
I Love experiencing the richness of the spoken books, details and time that a films cannot afford. I Love talking with Aya about what we're listening to, sharing my ideas with her, and learning from things that she picked up that I may have missed. Spending time listening, then interacting with each other, fills me with a richness that I wouldn't want to be without.
We're staring a list of stories that we like, from writers that strongly impact our imaginations. Tales that speak to us that we want to share.

Liveship treaders trilogy - Robin HobbWe just finished listening to this one, it's a really really long 3 book series, but it was interesting all the way through. Robin Hobb manage to write about characters who are not good or evil but that are very much like real people and it was really interesting to like someone one moment and hate them in the next scene. We also enjoyed the first trilogy in this series, the Farseer trilogy.

Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell - Susanna ClarkeI've read this book once in a hard cover, it's about 800 pages long and everyone was laughing at me for carrying such a huge book everywhere, but I couldn't stop reading it. I love the way Susanna Clarke manage to mix fantasy and a typical periodical novel together to make a wonderful book. I listened to it in audio book twice and I think I'm going to again soon.

Bartimaeus trilogy - Jonathan StroudWe've listened to the BARTIMAEUS TRILOGY twice (together). The second time, I was surprised at how many details I had missed the first. I wanted to see the characters as either good or evil, but as in most of the other books in this list, there were so many shades of gray, that a clear good or evil could not exist. It is a fantastic ride, and a wonderful journey.
